Virgin Cream | Why Smart Lipo is the Better Option

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Losing weight doesn’t have to be impossible. You may assume that genetics has
the final say to how your body is structured, but with the new methods out in
the market right now, anything is possible. People may keep repeating that old
adage that says beauty comes from deep within, but despite the fact that it has
resonated throughout the years, you know that how you look on the outside counts
for just as much. So, you decide to visit a cosmetic surgeon to help you with
your needs. You then realize that there are now so many procedures you can
choose from. Liposuction doesn’t have to be as dangerous and as invasive as it
was back then, and that’s because the tools used have changes as well.

Like any form of surgery, you still need to make sure to get the right kind of
help. You need someone with the skills to address your needs and deliver well.
If you just go to someone you just met, you won’t know if that doctor has the
right experience. You could come out of the experience with more scars to deal
with. That’s one thing you need to be mindful of because you don’t want to spend
a lot of money for something that didn’t work.

If you’re really serious about losing weight and getting your body to look
better, you can look into a procedure called Smart Lipo. This fat removal
technique is safer than the traditional means because you won’t have to endure
the wounds you get during a major surgery. The post-operative wounds are
relatively much smaller. This, recuperation is also much easier to deal with. In
fact, you can resume your normal schedule faster than you’ll ever expect.

Smart Lipo uses laser lypolysis techniques to target and melt away the fat
deposits found in your body. And like the original procedure, you can target
various problem areas. The fat cells are liquefied before they are even removed.
These are then expelled from the body through natural processes. The effects are
gradual rather than immediate, but as you patiently wait for what can happen,
you’ll see your old clothes start to fit. All these happen without large
instruments going under your skin. You can now have slimmer arms, legs, things,
abs, neck, and buttocks. All these in just a relatively short period of time.
And because smaller instruments are being used, you don’t bleed as much. In
fact, you only need local anesthesia to deal with the pain.

As soon as you get Smart Lipo, you can go back to work the very next day. People
around you will soon start to see the difference, and soon enough, you’ll feel
more beautiful than ever. This could even push you to start eating and living
healthy. Remember, the effects only last long when you know how to take care of
yourself. The cost of the treatment will vary but you will need to save up for
it. And while you’re at it, try to lose as much weight as you can so your doctor
will have an easier time addressing your needs.

My Review of "Brink’s Body Building e-book"

Until you learn to eat right, take the right
supplements, ignore the bad ones, know exactly how to train etc, you will
have a very hard time building lean muscle.

I am constantly reading and learning about the best
ways to build lean muscle mass. Education is probably one of the best things
you can do to help yourself get the edge when working out in the gym. That
is why I buy tons of books and training guides, and it’s why you should too
if you are serious about fitness.

While doing my normal internet searches for the latest
muscle building news, I came across an interesting e-book (basically a book
that your can read on your computer). The ebook was called "Body Building
Revealed" and was written by a man by the name of Will Brink. I had heard of
Will before in the muscle building industry and I knew he was a straight
shooting, "tell it like it is" kind of guy.

In fact, Will is a sports nutrition and
supplementation expert, not some lazy slob sitting in his basement writing
"muscle building" guides. Some of Will’s clients include famous athletes and
even SWAT team and Navy Seal special operation teams! When Will talks about
building muscle, I listen. Plain and simple.

Needless to say, I was on the edge of my seat while
reading this guide. The "lean muscle building diet" plan that is spelled out
step by step was worth the price of the book by itself. This is the same
plan used by professional athletes throughout the world. The only difference
is, you don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for this plan like the
athletes do.

In the second part of the book, Will talks about
bodybuilding supplements. I have to admit, I was completely shocked at what
he revealed. Thanks to Will, I will save thousands of dollars this year by
not wasting money on supplements that flat out don’t work. (Will does
explain which ones DO WORK, so that is something you won’t want to miss, in
the book are over 50 fully referenced body building supplement reviews, it’s
pretty amazing to be honest)

The third part of the e-book looks at weight training,
he has a chapter designed for beginners to intermediates then as if that was
not enough a huge addition from master trainer Charles Poliquin for the more
advanced trainee.

To be honest it would take me pages to do justice to
this e-book, there are over 640 pages in it, he goes to to explain in
further chapters about the correct way to do cardio to retain lean muscle
mass, then there’s a huge chapter on motivation and goal setting, honestly
this thing is like a body building bible.

Last time I checked, Will was offering a special on
his web site. He was giving away free memberships to his "Inner Ring", which
is basically free support and consulting with Will and a bunch of other
great freebies. If he is still offering this bonus, then you should signup
right away before he stops giving it away.

I can’t recommend Will Brink’s "Body Building
Revealed"e- book highly enough.

Click Here and hurry over to his web site to check it
out for yourself
.

Will Brink’s "Body Building Revealed"
is in my opinion
the the most complete, comprehensive and easy to understand information
published to date on "how to achieve lean muscle gains". (It has even been
described by bodybuilding legend Lee Labrada as a "must read").

The author, Will Brink, is a genuine sports nutrition
and supplementation expert, with all the credentials to prove it - not just
another of the many "self acclaimed experts" that seem to appear everywhere
on the Internet these days. (This fact in itself makes Body Building
Revealed worthy of further investigation!)

The fact is that anyone who’s been working out for any
length of time knows that your efforts in the gym will largely go un
rewarded if you don’t eat and train correctly.

In fact many experts say that if you’re trying to
build lean muscle as much as 80% of your end results are down to correct
nutrition and rest - NOT training. This being true it simply makes no sense
at all to go to the gym without learning how to eat correctly.

…And Will’s information is quite simply the very
best out there in my opinion to help you achieve this - for two simple
reasons:

1) It’s all scientifically proven - Will is a leading
researcher and consultant.

2) His information is proven in real world results -
Will’s clients as a trainer include an impressive list of top name athletes
as well as SWAT and Navy Seal special operation teams.

In the first section of Body Building Revealed you’ll
learn just about all you need to know about eating to build lean muscle
fast. It’s brilliantly written, extremely easy to understand and takes you
step by step through what would otherwise be the daunting task of putting
together your own personal "lean muscle building diet" - you’ll be shown how
to do it in the exact same way that professional athletes do.

In the following chapters, Will explains in depth how
to train , which supplements to use and which to avoid, how to do your
cardio to retain lean mass, whilst still losing body fat, and pretty much
everything else you could ever need to know to gain muscle.

Besides the written information you get access to an
amazing resource which Will call’s his "Inner Ring" in which you basically
get free consultancy with Will, along with an incredible array of diet
planning tools, unique articles from other leading industry experts and much
more. It really is awesome stuff, and you’ll not find such an immense amount
of muscle gain knowledge and information in one place anywhere else of that
I’m sure!

I can safely say this is the most complete guide to
building muscle I have ever seen, the only downside if there is one is it’s
size , this thing is 630 pages long, it’s a monster, but then again it has a
great index and table of contents and you can just click to the section your
interested in.

I can’t recommend it enough.

Fat Loss Revealed

How much money have you wasted on false promises made by weight loss
and diet supplement companies? I’ve spent so much money, it’s
embarrassing to talk about.

You’ve seen all the infomercial’s on late night TV showing how
their "magic" pill will melt away fat in no time. Well guess what?
Almost all of the supplements you come across in the media are
scams!

So, how do you know which (of the few) supplements ACTUALLY WORK?
Well, there is a man named Will Brink who is one of the top sports
supplement experts in the United States. People such as world famous
athletes, Hollywood stars, the SWAT team, and even the Navy Seal
special operations teams rely on Will’s advice to keep them in tip
top shape.

That’s all fine and great, but these people have thousands of
dollars to pay Will for his advice. Chances are, you don’t have
those kinds of resources available for "nutritional advice".

The reason I am even bringing this up is, I just found a guide
called "Fat Loss Revealed" that was written by Will Brink. The
moment I saw this guide was available, I snatched it up as fast as I
could pull the credit card out of my wallet!

I have to tell you, this is "THE GUIDE" you must have if you are
interested in reducing your body fat. It has completely unbiased
reviews of over 40 + of the best selling fat loss supplements,
explains exactly which are any good and which are just plain hype.

I was surprised at how the media uses it’s marketing hype to make
worthless products look so good. After reading Will’s book, I wonder
how some of these so called weight loss supplement companies can
sleep at night!

The Fat Loss Revealed e-book is split into 4 main chapters, one
covers all the supplement information you could ever need, including
a supplement scoreboard with an "at a glance" view of what works and
what doesn’t. He also has a private forum you gain access to with
Fat Loss Revealed which has over 300 brand name supplement reviews.

The second chapter is an in depth fat loss diet, that he has
passed on to high paying clients who need to really get in shape. He
gives you his basic but effective fat loss diet but also explains
all the advanced fat loss techniques such as carb cycling, re
feeding, and such like, if it’s not in this e-book, then you don’t
need it, I’ve never seen such an in depth look at all the advanced
dieting techniques on offer, he really knows his stuff.

Then there’s a chapter on resistance training, he has workouts
for beginners right up to very advanced trainees. The e-book even
has free weight workouts for people who can’t get to a gym, it all
includes photographs and you can even watch videos of the exercises
in his members area which you get free access to when you purchase
Fat Loss Revealed.

Then there’s more interesting information on motivation, and how
to really stick to your program, which is so important for long term
success. Advanced cardio techniques for really stripping off
resistant fat are also included in the cardio chapter.

There is so much invaluable knowledge in this manual, I can’t
really do it justice here. You will have to check it out for
yourself to truly understand how impressive this program is.

Will was having a special a couple days ago where he was giving
away 12 months access to his Fat Loss Revealed members area, it’s
amazing. A huge private online area, where you can get one on one
support from the author and from personal trainers .

They also have pre-made diets you can download which match the
Fat Loss Revealed diet program, they have a really good Diet planner
as well which lets you keep track of all your food, make recipes,
even see a graphical presentation of your progress.

Quite simply there is way to much for me to explain here, but
it’s really quite something special in comparison to the usual
rubbish out there, I can’t honestly understand why it’s so
affordable, it’s more of a complete fat loss system than just an
e-book, it’s outstanding value, I’ve already picked up so much
valuable information from the members area.

Anyway, if you feel it’s time to lose your body fat once and for
all, reading "Fat Loss Revealed" is the best possible way to get it
done. Click here to learn more about "Diet Supplements Revealed".

Weight Loss Tips
| 2 Cool Ways to Overcome Teenage Obesity!

If you take a closer look at your obese neighbors, that is, if you have watched
them grow from children into teenagers and finally adults, you would find that
many of them didn’t become obese adults overnight. Most probably they were
eating junk and processed foods since their childhood.

Those habits followed them when they grew into the puberty stage. Today, as
adults, they would probably like to kick off their bad habits and lose weight,
but since they have never followed healthy eating habits as children, they now
find it difficult to adopt them!

As you can understand, if we can put a rein on childhood obesity and teenage
obesity, much of the present day’s obesity problem could be solved! A lot of it
depends on parents. They should the ones teaching their kids the benefits of
healthy eating and healthy living.

They should be the ones to teach their kids how harmful it would be for their
health if they become fat. I have actually found that when it comes to kids or
teenagers, the fear of social disgrace usually influences them much more than
the fear of diseases.

You see, it is no secret that:

a) Kids are very sensitive by nature and don’t take offences kindly

b) Almost in all societies, fat kids are abused and taunted at by their peers

Therefore, inculcate the fear of imminent social disgrace in your kids, and see
if they don’t follow healthy eating habits! This is a psychological trick which
almost always works for teens, and to some extent, over-sensitive kids too;
however, it won’t probably work for adults!

The genetic factor is there to consider as well. If a teen’s parents are obese,
he would have to fight harder than usual to keep himself from getting
overweight. Studies point out that a teenager can, if he wants to, keep himself
healthy and fit even if his parents are not healthy. However, if a teen doesn’t
follow a healthy lifestyle during his adolescence, he would find it difficult to
keep the weight away in his adulthood!

While working out in the gym is an obvious option, teenagers shouldn’t be doing
workouts which are too strenuous, as they can injure themselves badly. From my
experience, I can recommend two good activities that would help your teenage
child keep obesity away without harming him in any way:

1) Outdoor sports: Right after finishing their academic activities, teens should
engage themselves in some form of outdoor sports. Afternoon is usually the best
time for playing sports such as cricket, football, basketball, tennis, etc. Make
sure that you do not force your kid to play any particular sport! Almost all
kids are interested in one of these sports, and since all of them are good for
weight loss, it doesn’t matter which sport he picks up for himself!

2) Swimming and dancing: Many kids take interest in these activities. They are
good choices since they keep your kids healthy, both physically and mentally.
Yoga is yet another good choice.

Weight Loss Tips | 3 Reasons Behind Teenage Weight Gain

Teenage obesity is harder to control than childhood obesity. This is because
children are more receptive to advice and suggestions than teens. Also, you
cannot chide a teenager in the same way as a pre-teen. As we grow into
adolescence, we grow physically as well as mentally. We become much more
sensitive and stubborn than before. We think of ourselves as more intelligent
than our parents. As you can see, handling a teenage kid is a real pain in the
butt.

Now, why teenagers gain weight? Teenagers gain weight because:

1) They hardly know the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods since
they were taught about it during their childhood. If they were eating junk and
fatty foods as little kids, the same unhealthy eating habit follows them into
their adolescence and they start eating them in larger quantities!

Parents often ask their kids to buy junk foods from outside instead of taking
the time or trouble to cook healthy meals at home. If your child never tastes
healthy and organic foods, he would naturally hate them in the latter years of
his life!

Plus, if your child lives in school hostel, things could get only worse. These
days, schools prefer to buy junk foods from outside since it is the cheaper
option to cooking meals in-house. Also, the exercise classes they have are
pretty basic. They would only work for a certain period, after which your kid
would be left on his own.

As you can see, there is just no way your teen kid can have a choice to eat
healthy foods!

2) They are much more tempted to try out restaurant foods than their pre-teen
counterparts. You see, almost all teenagers today have their pockets full of
cash. There are usually two sources of this cash: either their parents offer
them pocket money or they make money by dong part time jobs. So, when they have
money to spend, they usually spend it on junk foods because they are tasty and
yummy.

A lot of their food habits are also influenced by their peers at school and
college. I still remember how every time my friend had soft drinks at the
college canteen, I would inevitably buy one for myself, even though I had no
intention of buying it when I ventured out of home!

3) They hardly exercise. Again, their parents have got a big role to play here.
If a kid is not taught the benefits of exercises, or if parents allow them to
watch video games for hours instead of encouraging them to participate in
outdoor sports, the situation could only get worse as they grow into
adolescence.

There are indeed very few schools which make outdoors sports and other such
activities a mandatory part of their curriculum. As such, our present school
system is also to be blamed for teenage obesity.

It would have been good if the present American lifestyle and education system
could be completely revolutionized; however, I don’t see it happening within the
next few years. Hence, as a parent, it is high time that you start taking
control of your kid’s health. As to what you should do to keep your teenage kid
healthy, I think that what I said above is more than enough!

Weight Loss Tips | 3 Surefire Ways to Keep Your Teens Slim and Fit!

While obesity has been there for decades, teenage obesity is more of a recent
phenomenon. The trend of teenage obesity started since the 1990’s with more and
more teenagers giving preference to junk foods and video games over healthy
eating and exercises.

Today, the situation has reached the levels of an epidemic, with almost nine
million teens, most of them under the age of 15, being obese. If we don’t put a
stop to this trend right now, the number of obese teens would increase by at
least 40% within the next decade! So how could we prevent teenage obesity?

When it comes to kids’ health, parents have a key role to play. They can, if
they want, teach healthy or unhealthy lifestyle habits. A child’s mind, being
influential, would easily emulate the lifestyle of the parents, whether or not
they are healthy.

One of the habits I inherited from my father is that of eating a can of soda
just before bedtime. This is one habit I haven’t been able to get rid of in
spite of several attempts. It is as though it has formed a part of my flesh and
blood. This is why it is so important to teach healthy eating habits to your
kids right from the start!

1. Be good to yourself: If you are following unhealthy eating habits, you are
not only harming yourself but also your kids! You can never force your kids to
follow a healthy lifestyle if you don’t follow it yourself. So it is high time
that you get rid of your junk food eating habits and focus on eating organic
foods instead.

It is time that you stop buying processed fruit juices and start making the
fruit juice at home by extracting it from organic fruits. It is time that you
get rid of your ‘couch-sitting’ habit and take a walk or run outside.

This is the least you could do to keep yourself healthy! Plus, when you follow
healthy habits, your kids would imitate you automatically!

2. Cook meals at home: Health starts at home. Instead of eating at fast food
restaurants, start cooking meals at home. With home-cooked meals, you can
control the ingredients which go into cooking. For example, when you are baking
cookies at home, you can, if you want, use margarine instead of butter.
Likewise, when you cook vegetables at home, you can cook them with low-fat oil.

Similarly, when you cook chicken at home, you can cut off its fatty part and
keep only the meat; additionally, you can slice the chicken in two halves, so
that you eat one half today and keep the other half for tomorrow.

In short, with home cooked meals, you could exercise lot of flexibility and
control over what goes into your mouth. In contrast, with restaurant foods, you
have no option but to eat whatever you are served. Even if you order only
‘low-calorie’ foods, they would harm you as well! Think about it: you know how
much calorie you need per day, but the restaurant doesn’t!

3. Monitor your teen’s health. Even after following all the above steps, if your
teen kid still struggles with weight loss, you should immediately put him on a
healthy diet plan, as well as some diet pills too! If in doubt, you may want to
consult with your doctor about it!

Weight Loss Tips | 5 Ways Parents Can Prevent Teenage Obesity!

Obesity has always been there, especially among people belonging to the upper
middle class and of course, the rich people too! More often than not, obesity is
the result of overeating and unhealthy eating. It is no wonder that obesity
usually thrives in families which are financially well off; these families can
afford to eat expensive junk foods and junk foods are what primarily make a
person overweight.

In recent times however, it is noticed that obesity is not just limited to
adults! As more and more children fall into the trap of obesity, one wonders
whether it is taking the form of an epidemic.

How do children become obese? Well, usually they gain weight as a result of
following poor eating habits. But who teaches those poor eating habits to them?
As we know, a child’s mind is like a blank, white paper and whatever you write
on it would become his future. In other words, a child’s mind is very
influential; he cannot differentiate between good and bad and consequently,
takes whatever is taught to him as gospel truth.

Parents have a big role to play in the health of their children. No matter how
much they deny it, they are primarily responsible for teenage obesity. Have you
ever noticed that obese kids usually have obese parents? It is not just a
coincidence! It might be true that the child has inherited obesity from his
parents, but it is equally true that the kid became obese because of following
the poor eating habits of his parents.

The kid’s parents have probably become obese because of poor, unhealthy eating
habits and leading a sedentary lifestyle; so it is likely they would pass on
their bad habits to their kids since they don’t know any better!

So rather than trying to make your teenage kids lose weight when it is too late,
it is better to teach healthy eating habits to them right from an early stage so
that they never gain weight in the first place. Here are some ways you can do
it:

1. First of all, you need to change your poor eating habits. By following an
unhealthy lifestyle, you are not only harming yourself but also your kids. Since
kids take their parents as role models, they would follow your eating habits and
become obese just like you!

2. Second, it is time to put your parental love on the backburner and become
stricter with regards to your kid’s food habits. Children naturally love to eat
sweets, candies, cakes, cookies, etc. No matter how much you feed them with
healthy foods, they would still pester you for these items.

However, these foods are high on calorie and would make your kids fat. Many
parents like to condone the poor eating habits of their kids out of parental
love, but in my opinion, such parental love is misdirected for it makes kids
obese. It is time you start admonishing your kids for eating junk foods.
Remember, your kids’ health is at stake!

3. Thirdly, you should stock your home with organic fruits and vegetables and
cook them regularly for yourself and your kids. Far too many parents, either out
of laziness or lack of time, don’t cook meals at home; instead, they ask their
kids to eat junk foods from outside. If you really believe that your family’s
health is your first priority, you would need to cook meals regularly.

Unlike junk and fatty foods, organic foods are rich in vitamins, protein, fats,
zinc, calcium, etc., as well as low on calorie. More importantly, they are rich
in fiber, which would help keep your kids full for a long time. Remember that
when kids are not hungry, they are less likely to gorge on junk foods!

4. Fourth, it is time that you not only stop buying junk foods but also throw
away your existing stock of junk foods from your kitchen and refrigerator. Kids
are more likely to eat chips and cookies if they are easily available at home.

5. Lastly, encourage your kids to become more active in life, and of course, you
should do the same too! Instead of watching video games, PSP or TV, they should
go outside and play sports such as basketball, tennis, cricket, etc. These
sports would help them burn fat and stay fit. Additionally, if your kids are
interested in swimming, dancing, etc., they would be encouraged to indulge in
them as well!

Obesity is bad enough, but keep in mind that if you are proactive about it, it
is never too late to begin! Also keep in mind that preventing weight gain is
much better than struggling to lose weight!

Weight Loss Tips | 5 Ways Teenage Obesity Harms Your Child!

Not too long ago, America was looked upon as the country of ‘obese population’.
Today, this is no longer true! As western influences, particularly western
lifestyle habits, continue to make headway into the rest of the world very
swiftly, obesity is slowly becoming a worldwide problem. As waistlines continue
to become wider and buttocks larger in size, we wonder whether obesity is soon
going to turn into an epidemic worldwide!

Fortunately, unlike several other harmful diseases, obesity is preventable as
well as curable. In my opinion though, prevention is better than cure. An obese
teenager not only suffers physically but also mentally. In fact, when it comes
to teens, obesity begets obesity.

When obese teens are ridiculed at by their peers, they become depressed.
Consequently, they try to find solace and comfort in junk foods and eat more and
more of them. This in turn worsens their health. This is why it is a good to
prevent weight gain by monitoring the health of your teenage kids right from an
early stage.

In any case, it is never too late to begin, so let’s get started! First, let me
tell you how obesity could harm a teen:

1. Obese teenagers often suffer from depression for the reasons I mentioned
above. They also suffer from low-self esteem, inferiority complex and
irritability.

2. Just like their adult counterparts, obese teens also suffer from physical
diseases such as sleep apnea, coronary diseases, kidney problems, high blood
pressure, diabetes, etc. Additionally, recent studies point that that obese
teens are more likely to die prematurely than teens of normal body weight!

3. Obesity can affect your child’s education and career in a big way. Obese
teens are more likely to have their education and job applications rejected.
They are less likely to get a cushy job as most companies consider the health of
a prospect in a big way before employing him!

4. Obese teens are more likely to have marital troubles than others. It is no
secret than obese people usually snore in sleep. Believe it or not, snoring is
one of the leading causes behind the growing number of broken marriages and
divorces!

5. An obese teen is very likely to live in social denial. Being used to
mistreatment of the society since his childhood, he would eventually accept it
as part of life and continue to allow others to mistreat him. As time goes by,
he would become more and more depressed and might even want to end his life when
the torture becomes too much to bear!

I am not exaggerating anything; I have seen so many obese teenagers grow and I
can say that not many of them are leading happy lives as adults. If you wish to
offer your kid a healthy, happy and long life, there are a few things you should
do.

Teens take their parents as role models and follow their lifestyle habits.
Therefore, you, as a responsible parent, can influence your kid’s lifestyle
habits by following healthy habits yourself. Kids usually get attracted to junk
foods after watching their parents enjoying them. By getting rid of your junk
food habits and switching to healthy and organic foods, you would not only
ensure a healthy and happy life for yourself but also your child!

Unless prescribed by a qualified doctor or nutritionist, a teenager shouldn’t be
given any kind of diet pill or weight loss supplement. Many of these pills and
supplements have harmful side effects which may do more harm than good to your
teen kid.

Encouraging him to indulge in performance activities is another good way to
overcome teenage obesity. These days, teenagers indulge more in video games and
the like instead of playing sports which make them sweat, such as tennis,
volleyball, baseball, etc. However you can reverse it by actively participating
in these sports. As your teenage kid sees that you are enjoying a certain sport,
he would soon emulate you and play it!

Remember that as a parent you are fully capable of influencing your kid’s
lifestyle. Use that power now to insure a healthy and positive life for your
teenage kid! Remember that it is never too late to begin!

Weight Loss Tips | Here is Why You Must Not Ignore the Growing Fat Belly of Your
Teenage Kid!

Teenage obesity is something we cannot ignore, for it is as much disastrous,
perhaps even more disastrous, than adult obesity. For one, people who have been
obese as teenagers are less likely to live a long life than those who live a
healthy life as teens. For another, unlike adults who can control obesity with
the help of diets, diet pills, and intense workouts, teenagers cannot do the
same because of the following three reasons:

a) The teenage period is the period of growth for a human being. This is the
time when our body needs more nutrition than at any other period. On the other
hand, a lot of fad diets restrict your food intake in such a way that you are
virtually cut off from eating most of the nutritious foods available. Obviously,
teenagers cannot be prescribed such diets which would negatively affect their
growth.

b) So far as diet pills are concerned, many of them come with harmful side
effects. There are pills which have side effects such as nausea, vertigo,
headache, indigestion, etc. Since teenagers tend to have weaker immune system
compared adults, these side effects would cause great damage in their bodies!

c) Intense workouts are truly intense, in that they put a lot of stress on your
body, particularly bone and muscles. As teenagers, we develop new muscles and
our bones become stronger. However, since this is a period of bodily growth, a
teenager’s body is not as strong as that of an adult. Consequently, if a
teenager performs such intense workouts, he is very likely to injure himself
seriously!

That said, all is not lost. There are several easy ways to keep your teenage kid
fit and healthy. But it all depends on you. If parents are unwilling to
cooperate, teenage obesity cannot be controlled. It is a fact that a child is
more influenced by the lifestyle habits of his parents than that of strangers.

Don’t ever think that obese parents have obese kids solely because of genetic
reasons. While genetic factors may have a key role to play regarding a person’s
body weight, they are only as much powerful as one’s destiny. If a human wants,
he can easily control his body weight just like he can master his density.

Okay so here are two tips to fight teenage obesity:

1) Weight loss experts often tout food as the biggest reason behind obesity.
However, it is not food, but rather "bad food", which causes weight gain. If a
person keeps eating burgers, pizzas, cookies, cakes, soft drinks, soda, alcohol,
processed fruit juices, etc., it is only natural that he would become overweight
in the long run.

Remember that when it comes to eating, there is no healthier substitute than
organic fruits and vegetables. Nature has plenty of healthy foods to offer us
and if we wish to stay healthy and fit, we must eat only those foods and nothing
else!

That doesn’t however mean that these natural foods need to be eaten raw. Get out
of your laziness and start cooking meals at home using low fat oil. Remember
that unless you become proactive about it, the health of your teenage kid would
only get worse over time!

2. Today’s teenagers prefer to remain glued to television and video games
instead of engaging in outdoor sports. Once again, parents have a key role to
play here. If you watch television or remain glued to your computer screen for
hours, it is natural that your kid would do the same.

Now, if you or your kid doesn’t want to workout, then don’t. But walking,
running and jogging are some of the easy activities both of you could do to keep
obesity at bay!

Weight Loss Tips | Make Your Teen Kid Lose Weight With These 3 Easy Steps!

I hate stats and figures as much as you do! But if I want to portray the
enormity of the epidemic called teenage obesity and how it is and will be
affecting the American population, I need to mention some scientific figures to
prove my point. Studies predict that:

a) If the present trend of teenage obesity continues, almost half of the
American population could become obese within the next 25 years. American
lifestyle would continue to influence the world in the same way as now and thus,
the tragedy of America could well be taken as the tragedy of the world!

b) It is also predicted that depending on their age, obese teenagers are likely
to have health issues when they grow into adulthood. For example, young teens
are almost 25% likely to have healthy-related problems in adulthood, while for
the older teenagers, this figure rises to about 80%.

c) Studies also point out that people who have been obese in their teens are
three times more likely to die prematurely than others.

There are three main causes behind teenage obesity:

1. Poor eating habits: Teenagers tend to have influential minds, and the
lifestyle they follow is often a result of several kinds of influences, domestic
and non-domestic. As far as domestic influence is concerned, a lot of it can
well be attributed to their parents. When they see their parents enjoying
burgers, chips, biscuits, cakes, pizzas, etc., they follow suit. When they
notice their parents gulping down a dozen cans of soda, why would they do drink
plain water?

Among non-domestic influences, the prominent influence is peer pressure. If
peers are enjoying fast foods, your kid would most likely join them out of fear
of being ostracized. If your kid’s classmate says that it is cool to have soft
dinks at lunch, he would most probably follow his suggestion!

Only parents can ensure that their kids follow healthy eating habits. As a first
step, they should start eating healthy foods themselves. They need to show their
kids how much they enjoy eating organic fruits and vegetables. They need to kick
off their junk food eating habits.

Believe it or not, the way you lead life influences your teenage kid’s lifestyle
habits in a big way. If you follow healthy habits, your kid would surely imitate
you.

Parents also need to make sure that their kids always have healthy foods at
their reach; this would discourage them from eating junk foods from outside. At
breakfast, you should offer your kid a decent-sized meal that would keep him
full for a long time. Such a meal should be rich in protein, vitamin, calcium,
carbohydrates and fats. You can include eggs, chicken, broccoli, tofu, soy,
whole grains, nuts, etc., as part of the breakfast!

Be sure to pack your kid’s launch box with home cooked meals and strictly
instruct him to eat only those foods at lunch and nothing else! If he doesn’t
obey you, force him to eat his lunch at home before serving the dinner. Just
like breakfast, dinner should also consist of only healthy and low-calorie
foods!

2. Low activity level: A lot of kids gain weight because they hardly move their
bodies. For fitness purposes, a body should always be kept in motion, for when a
body moves, it burns fat and calories and makes you lose weight!

So, you should discourage your kids from watching too much television and
encourage them to indulge in outdoor sports such as tennis, basketball, or
cricket instead! No matter how much they pester you, don’t buy them video games
or PSPs. Kids get addicted to video games pretty quickly and that would hinder
their active life!

3. Genetic disorders: Some kids gain weight because of hereditary reasons.
However if you thought there is no way out for your teenage kid, you couldn’t be
further from the truth! Your kid would simply need to work a lot harder than
others to keep the weight at bay!

Weight Loss Tips | The One Reason Behind Teenage Obesity, and 4 Ways to Control
It

Want to know who is responsible behind teenage obesity? It is our ‘gizmo age’!
Yep, we are so much focused on gadgets and gizmos that we are becoming lazier by
the day! We have computers and robots to perform many of our manual chores.

Consequently, we are living a sedentary lifestyle and gaining weight as a
result! Today, more children spend time watching video games and surfing the
internet than even a decade ago. As we become more and more advanced
technologically, the situation is only going to get worse in the following
years!

Today, kids would rather play video games than baseball or tennis. If they
become obese, who is to blame for it? Blame yourself before blaming your kids!
After all, as a parent, isn’t it your responsibility to look to it that your
kids follow healthy habits at all times? Wasn’t it you who, consciously or
unconsciously, taught your kids the same poor lifestyle habits that you follow?
If you keep watching television and munching on chips without a break, how could
you expect your teenage kids to do any different?

Television is actually one of our biggest enemies! Today, a bulk of TV ads
consist of attractive ads on chips, pizzas, cookies soft drinks, etc., all of
being rich in empty calories and responsible for the growing trend of obesity.
Allow your kid to watch television for too long, and see him adopt unhealthy
lifestyle habits and become overweight!

Overeating is also one of the leading causes behind obesity. Adults often eat
more than they should, and their kids follow suit!

Another reason is the poor curriculum followed by most schools these days, which
focus more on bookish education and less on physical activities and sports.
Under such circumstances, kids would naturally become obese!

So what is the solution?

The solution is to go back to our roots by following the lifestyle habits of our
forefathers. You see, there is a reason why our forefathers hardly had to deal
with the menace of obesity - unlike us, they didn’t eat junk foods, sat on the
couch the entire day, stuck their noses onto the computer or television screen,
or shunned sports like today’s kids do!

Here are some of the things that can be done to prevent teenage obesity:

1) Never put your kids on a strict diet, as that would do more harm than good!
If your kid is currently eating junk and fast foods, discourage him from doing
so and start feeding him with home-cooked meals!

2) It is also important that you, as a parent, follow the same healthy habits
you want your kids to follow. For example, if you want your kids to give
preference to home-cooked meals over junk foods, you need to do that yourself.
If you want your kids to participate in outdoor sports then you should
participate in those sports yourself! If you want your kids to stop watching
television for too long, you need to get rid of that habit as well!

Remember that a kid follows his parents’ footsteps and considers them his role
models. The way you lead life would influence the lifestyle of your kid!

3) Engage your kids in household chores such as cleaning your house, looking
after your garden, etc.

4) If the eating habits of your kid changes drastically all of a sudden, in that
he eats more junk than healthy foods, there maybe more to it than meets your
eyes! Has the kid stopped participating in the normal activities he used to take
interest in? Has he become calmer and quieter than usual?

Many kids and teenagers eat junk foods out of depression or other similar
psychological troubles. If your kid is eating because of emotional reasons, it
is time to take him to a professional psychiatrist for counseling!

I hope these measures would prove adequate to keep your kids fit and healthy.

Weight Loss Tips | The Sureshot Approach to Quick Weight Loss for Teenagers

Teenage obesity is fast becoming a ‘growing’ menace (pun intended)! One reason
behind it is that it is very difficult to handle and control the lifestyle
habits of teenagers. Teenagers always try to live life on their own terms since
they believe that they are mature enough to take all important decisions of
their lives. Still, there are a number of ways you can make sure that your
teenage kid is always fit and slim.

Have you ever taught the difference of healthy and unhealthy foods to your kids?
Have you ever taught your kids how to identity those two types of foods? Have
you ever offered him home cooked meals? Have you ever prevented him from eating
junk foods from outside, or watching television for hours?

If your answer to all these questions is "no", I regret to say that you have not
really been a good parent. But you are not the only one of a kind. Most parents
make their kids eat junk foods because they are not only a cheaper alternative
to home cooked meals but also save them time. Most parents would prefer watching
television or gossiping rather than cooking meals at home.

If a kid is not made to taste healthy foods right from the beginning, if he is
never taught to identify good and bad foods, it is only natural that he would
continue with the unhealthy habits of his childhood right into adolescence and
beyond! If one has never eaten anything except junk foods as a child, it is not
unnatural that he would develop a certain kind of distaste towards organic foods
as he grows older. These unhealthy eating habits are one of the primary reasons
behind teenage obesity.

Changing is a teenager’s eating habit is a lot more harder than changing the
food habits of a little kid. The only way you can change your kid’s eating habit
is by changing your food choices first. When you become proactive at weight loss
and fitness, your teenage kids would follow suit! What you should be eating is
something I would discuss at the end of this article.

Another reason behind obesity is the influence of television. Television not
only makes a teenager idle but also influences his mind with those attractive
ads on junk and fatty foods. As a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure
that your kids don’t watch television for a long time period.

You should encourage them to indulge in outdoor sports or at least take a walk
outside.

As a parent, you should neither allow your kids to buy junk foods nor bring them
yourself at home. When junk foods are available just right at the corner,
neither you nor your kids would be able to resist the temptation. For goodness’
sake, it is best to throw junk foods out of your home.

Your kitchen and refrigerator should be stocked only with organic foods; that
way, you can make sure the whole family eats them more often than junk foods.
Eating organic foods is one of the best ways to keep your calorie consumption
low. This, coupled with a little physical activity, would do good both to you
and your adolescent kids!

As for a diet program, you really don’t need one, but if you want to follow a
good diet, take a look at the "Strip That Fat" program. This is a new kind of
diet devoid of the stupid food restrictions of the fad diets. When you start
following it, you won’t feel like you are dieting.

With Strip That Fat program, you are not forced to eat only one or other food;
you can make your own meal plans based on your food choices. Strip That Fat
comes with a diet generator tool as well that would build customized meal plans
for you on the go!

Remember that as parents, we have the choice to teach healthy or unhealthy
lifestyle habits to our kids. However, you need to teach your kids, especially
teenagers, through action instead of mere words of wisdom. When you start losing
weight as a result of following a healthy lifestyle, your kids would do the
same. This is really a great way to fight teenage obesity!

Weight Loss Tips | Warning! Teenage Obesity Can Kill Your Child Unless You
Follow These 3 Steps!

Obesity is bad enough, but teenage obesity is worse. If kids and teenagers start
getting overweight, it only goes on to show how bad our lifestyle habits have
become and how little concern we have for our health. Today, almost fifteen per
cent of teenagers are obese, that too just in America (I am not even counting
the world figure, which would obviously be higher), and if we don’t take the
right measures to curb it, it would only get worse with time!

Now why should we be so concerned about obesity? Obesity is a cause of concern
because it not only makes a person look fat and ugly but also inflicts him with
several killer diseases such as diabetes, sleep apnea, heart problems, kidney
troubles, high blood pressure, etc.! Just imagine your teen as a diabetic!
Obesity in itself is fatal as well; recent studies point out that people who
suffer from teenage obesity are more likely to die prematurely than others!

Don’t believe me? Actually many people used to think that the concept of
‘obesity related death’ is a joke or rumor, that is, until in 1989 the National
Institute for Health decided to sponsor a study designed to monitor the health
of about one million women over an extended period of time.

During the study, the lifestyle habits of these women, including diet, level of
activity, etc. were monitored. The study continued over a period of 12 years,
and most of the women who volunteered to participate in it were nurses employed
in state-run hospitals located in various parts in USA, including New York,
Kentucky, Michigan, Texas, etc. All of them were aged between 22-44 years.

The participants were asked to answer a series of questions pertaining to their
health, including the lifestyle habits they followed during their adolescence,
their entire medical history, etc. Midway during the study, as many as 710
participants died.

The researchers conducting the study found out that the reason behind their
premature deaths was that almost all of them were obese in their teens. It is
then that these researchers concluded that people, in this case women, who
suffer from teenage obesity are three times more likely to die prematurely than
those who are of normal weight.

As you can see, teenage obesity influences the future of your kid in a big way!
If you don’t want your children to die prematurely like those nurses, it is time
that you start monitoring the lifestyle habits of your teenage daughters and
sons. There are too many fad diets and diet pills out there, all claiming to
help you with weight loss but I would rather recommend healthy eating and an
active lifestyle for your teenage kids. Keep in mind that if you wish your kids
to live a long life, preventing teenage obesity is the only way to ensure that!

Why excess abdominal fat is more DEADLY than you think

Below is an article contributed by Mike
Geary, the founder of TruthAboutAbs.com .  I thought this was an important topic
to share with you because the reality is that most people simply don’t realize
how dangerous their excess abdominal fat really is to their health.

The Hidden
Dangers of Your Excess Abdominal Fat - It’s More Serious Than a Vanity Issue!

by Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition
Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer

Did you know that the vast majority of
people in this day and age have excess abdominal fat? The first thing that most
people think of is that their extra abdominal fat is simply ugly, is covering up
their abs from being visible, and makes them self conscious about showing off
their body.

However, what most people don’t realize is
that excess abdominal fat in particular, is not only ugly, but is also a
dangerous risk factor to your health. Scientific research has clearly
demonstrated that although it is unhealthy in general to have excess body fat
throughout your body, it is also particularly dangerous to have excess abdominal
fat.

There are two types of fat that you have in
your abdominal area. The first type that covers up your abs from being visible
is called subcutaneous fat and lies directly beneath the skin and on top of the
abdominal muscles.

The second type of fat that you have in
your abdominal area is called visceral fat, and that lies deeper in the abdomen
beneath your muscle and surrounding your organs. Visceral fat also plays a role
in giving certain men that "beer belly" appearance where their abdomen protrudes
excessively but at the same time, also feels sort of hard if you push on it.

Both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat in
the abdominal area are serious health risk factors, but science has shown that
having excessive visceral fat is even more dangerous than subcutaneous fat. Both
of them greatly increase the risk your risk of developing heart disease,
diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer, and
other degenerative diseases.

Part of the reason visceral fat is
particularly dangerous is that it apparently releases more inflammatory
molecules into your body on a consistent basis.

If you care about the quality of your life
and your loved ones, reducing your abdominal fat should be one of your TOP
priorities! There’s just no way around it. Besides, a side-effect of finally
getting rid of all of that excessive ugly abdominal fat is that your stomach
will flatten out, and if you lose enough stomach fat, you will be able to
visibly see those sexy six pack abs that everyone wants.

So what gets rid of extra abdominal fat? Is
there actually a REAL solution beyond all of the gimmicks and hype that you see
in ads and on commercials for "miracle" fat loss products?

The first thing you must understand is that
there is absolutely NO quick fix solution. There are no pills or supplements of
any sort that will help you lose your abdominal fat faster. Also, none of the
gimmicky ab rockers, rollers, or ab belts will help get rid of abdominal fat
either. You can’t spot reduce your stomach fat by using any of these worthless
contraptions. It simply doesn’t work that way.

The ONLY solution to consistently lose your
abdominal fat and keep it off for good is to combine a sound nutritious diet
full of unprocessed natural foods with a properly designed strategic exercise
program that stimulates the necessary hormonal and metabolic response within
your body. Both your food intake as well as your training program are important
if you are to get this right.

I’ve actually even seen a particular study
that divided thousands of participants into a diet-only group and an
exercise/diet group. While both groups in this study made good progress, the
diet-only group lost significantly LESS abdominal fat than the diet & exercise
combined group.

Now the important thing to realize is that
just any old exercise program will not necessarily do the trick. The majority of
people that attempt getting into a good exercise routine are NOT working out
effectively enough to really stimulate the loss of stubborn abdominal fat. I see
this everyday at the gym.

Most people will do your typical boring
ineffective cardio routines, throw in a little outdated body-part style weight
training, and pump away with some crunches and side bends, and think that they
are doing something useful for reducing their abdominal fat. Then they become
frustrated after weeks or months of no results and wonder where they went wrong.

Well, the good news is that I’ve spent over
a decade researching this topic, analyzing the science, and applying it "in the
trenches" with myself as well as thousands of my clients from all over the world
to see what works to really stimulate abdominal fat loss.

The entire solution… all of the
nutritional strategies, as well as training sequences, exercise combinations,
and more have all been compiled in my Truth About Six Pack Abs Program.
Keep in mind that the point of this whole program is NOT abdominal exercises
(that is only a very small portion of it). The main point of this program is
showing you the absolute most effective strategies for losing your stubborn
abdominal fat, so you can get rid of that dangerous health risk, as well as get
a flatter more defined midsection.

If you follow the guidelines, you WILL lose
your belly fat that has been plaguing you for years. This is not guesswork… it
is a proven system that works time and time again for all of my clients on every
corner of the globe that actually apply the information I teach. If you apply
it, the results will come. It’s really that simple.

The only reason most people fail in their
fitness goals is that they have good intentions at first to adopt a new
lifestyle, yet after a few weeks or months, they abandon their good intentions
and slip right back into their old bad habits that gave them the excess body fat
in the first place.

I want to help you succeed in finally
getting rid of that extra abdominal fat that is not only UGLY, but also
DANGEROUS.

Don’t waste another day allowing that nasty
abdominal fat to kill your confidence as well as contribute to your risk for
MAJOR diseases.

Secrets for losing stubborn stomach fat

I receive hundreds of fitness questions
every day from people all over the world, but by far one of the most common
themes in these questions revolve around the struggles that most people are
having with losing that flabby stomach fat that doesn’t seem to want to go away
no matter what they try.

Just recently I had the pleasure of meeting
a fellow fitness professional named Mike Geary of TruthAboutAbs.com (insert aff
link). Now Mike is a well-known expert who deals exclusively with the most
effective strategies for losing stomach fat so that you can finally uncover
those elusive six pack abs that everyone desires.

Some of Mike’s strategies deal with
nutrition aspects and others deal with training techniques, but I was impressed
to see that Mike has put together one of the most comprehensive resources for
dealing with all of the aspects necessary to finally get rid of that nasty belly
fat for good.

The key is that Mike focuses on the REAL
techniques that are going to get you lasting results, and teaches you how to
avoid all of these "quick-fix" scams and gimmicks that are all over the
infomercials and the internet these days.

Several of the mistakes that Mike see’s
every day where people are going wrong in their fat loss attempts are:

1. Most people are wasting too much of
their time doing hundreds of reps of ineffective crunches, situps, and other
"abs pumping" exercises in their attempt at losing stomach fat.
Mike has discovered that there are certain highly effective exercises that
stimulate your metabolism much better, and increase your fat burning hormone
levels much more. These exercises that Mike outlines are the best of the best
for getting a lean, chiseled body.

Surprisingly to most, the majority of these
most effective exercises for stomach fat loss are NOT "abs-specific" exercises.
Not only that, but Mike shows you how to combine and sequence them to get the
best metabolic and fat loss results possible, changing the shape of your entire
body.

2. Most people are wasting way too much
time doing hours upon hours of boring monotonous cardio routines.

Mike has researched this topic extensively,
including an entire course he’s taken comparing different modalities of
cardiovascular exercise. After all of this research, we’ve come to the
conclusion that the majority of people out there are not doing the right types
of cardio exercise. In fact, most people may actually be inadvertantly
decreasing their metabolic rate by doing too much of the wrong types of cardio!

The strategies that Mike reveals in his
program go beyond "interval cardio" too.

3. Most people are failing miserably with
fad diets.

Mike reveals exactly why most low-carb or
low-fat diets are actually working against what your body needs to become lean
and ripped and maintain it for life! Mike shows you exactly how to stop falling
for the gimmick diets and finally develop a truly healthy eating style that you
can actually enjoy for life without being overly restrictive. It’s actually
easier and more enjoyable than you believe!

To being lean, strong, and healthy for life

Below is an interview I did recently with
Craig Ballantyne.

Surprise abs training mistakes to avoid

If you’re interested in discovering some
areas where you may be going wrong in your abs training and your attempts at
losing stomach fat, I have an interview for you below that you’ll want to read.

In it, Men’s Health Magazine writer Craig
Ballantyne
, grills Abs-Expert Mike Geary, author of the internationally popular
book, The Truth about Six Pack Abs, on the topic of abs training and the biggest
myths and mistakes he sees in this field.

Also, be sure to check out Mike’s site at:

http://truthaboutabs.com/

Here’s a copy of the first half of the
interview below. In this part of the interview today, we’ll just deal with
training aspects.

CB: Okay Mike, so where does the average man or woman go wrong when it comes to
training abs?

MG: Most people are probably going to be surprised with this answer. In their
quest for ’six pack abs’, the biggest mistake I see people making is wasting WAY
too much of their time training their abs directly… pumping away with all
kinds of different abs-specific exercises.

I’m sure you know what I’m referring to. The person is trying so hard to get
those abs to show, that they’re spending almost all of their time in the gym
with hundreds of reps of various crunches, leg raises, twisting exercises, etc.
Meanwhile, all of that wasted time directly training the abs could have been
better spent on a properly designed full body workout program that would elicit
a much better metabolic response and increase the fat-burning hormone levels in
their body as well.

After all, losing the stomach fat that is covering the abs is the MOST
important aspect for most people to finally be able to make their abs visible.
Unfortunately, pumping away with hundreds of crunches and leg raises does NOT
cause much of a metabolic or fat burning hormonal response.

This is the main focus of my Truth about Six Pack Abs book… full body
training programs and proper nutrition to strip off that stubborn belly fat and
reveal the six pack that’s hiding underneath!

Of course it wouldn’t be an abs book if I didn’t focus on ab development too,
but I make sure firstly that the most important concepts for lasting body fat
reduction are understood.

CB: Do you see any gender differences in mistakes they make? And more
importantly, do you see any gender differences in the response to various types
of ab training?

MG: To be honest, I don’t really see any need for men or women to train
differently. Bottom line… the best exercises are the best exercises regardless
of gender.

However, in regards to mistakes I see between genders… Yes, I tend to see
women more often are deathly afraid to use weight training with anything but
really light weights. That is a shame, because THE most effective way to gain
control over your body fat for life, is to maximize your lean muscle that your
body carries, as well as working that muscle hard through intense resistance
exercise regularly.

It’s important for women to realize that regular strength training using
heavier resistance will NOT "bulk them up" (as long as caloric intake is
controlled), but rather is one of the key secrets for losing body fat and
staying lean year-round. As a matter of fact, some of the leanest females that
I’ve trained over the years are the ones that aren’t afraid to work hard with
the weights.

I also notice that most women (and a lot of guys too) spend way too much time
with slow cardio exercise. This is simply not necessary, and the way I combine
high intensity resistance training into full body routines provides enough of a
"cardio" workout in itself usually. We’ll get back to this in a minute though.

CB: What about ol’ school sit-ups? Do you use these? Are they good, bad, or does
it "depend"?

MG: Sit-ups are a controversial topic. I don’t think they’re good or bad per
se, but rather "in between". I didn’t include them in my program. I simply don’t
feel they are necessary, and I think there are much more effective abs exercises
to focus on. Personally, I almost never do sit-ups except occasionally for a
little variety every now and then.

CB: Give us a weekly sample ab training program. How many days per week? What
are a couple of the best exercises you’d pick? How many sets? Reps? Rest?

MG: Well, first I’d like to point out that the full body movements that make
up the majority of my programs indirectly work the abs and the entire "core"
area to a fairly decent extent. However, I do include abs-specific exercises
into the routines generally about twice per week. The "abs-specific" portion of
the workouts generally only take about 5 minutes at most with very little rest
between exercises.

Once people are past the beginning phase of gaining some initial ab strength,
I try to get them away from the exercises that are too easy, where someone can
do 50 or 100 reps, as is frequently common with standard crunches. Instead, I
like to focus on higher resistance exercises that actually stimulate the muscle
fibers to a much greater degree.

One example of a higher resistance abs exercise is hanging leg raises with a
proper "pelvic curl up". It’s funny but usually someone that has been wasting so
much time with hundreds of reps of crunches can usually only do a few solid reps
when they first attempt some of these higher resistance exercises.

We also make sure not to neglect some rotational movements, as well as some
work for the deeper muscles like the transversus abdominis.

CB: What do you use for burning fat, intervals or slow cardio? Or both? Any
gender differences here? Or differences between fitness levels (beginner vs.
advanced)?

MG: In most cases, my answer is definitely intervals… or as I like to call
it "variable intensity training". In general, I think slow steady pace cardio is
a waste of time, especially if the goal is lasting fat loss.

I think people need to get away from this thinking about "fat burning zones"
and calories burned during the actual workout, and look at the bigger picture of
what you’re doing in your workout to stimulate the greatest metabolic response
in your body… and the best metabolic and hormonal response is achieved through
variable intensity training and strength training, not slow steady-pace cardio.

Now I will say that if someone is really deconditioned and can’t handle
higher intensity exercise routines just yet, this still doesn’t mean that they
can’t simply use lower intensity routines, but still use it in a "variable
intensity" fashion, by alternating between higher and lower exertion levels
throughout the workout.

That wraps up our training portion of the interview. For more info about

Common food mistakes that keep your abs hidden by fat

A few days ago, I sent you the interview which discussed various training
aspects to consider for stripping off stubborn belly fat and uncovering those
six pack abs that everyone wants.

Today, I have the rest of the interview with Abs-Expert Mike Geary dealing
with the best nutrition secrets to apply if you want to have any chance of
getting lean enough to see visible abs on yourself…

CB: And finally Mike, 1 or 2 of your top secret nutrition tips for losing body
fat to carve out those abs. Open your vault of info!

MG: Well Craig, I think you’d agree that there has never been a more
confusing time regarding proper nutrition for consumers. Every so called
"expert" out there seems to disagree and contradict each other on what’s the
best way to eat for fat loss and overall good health.

One of the most important messages I try to teach my readers in this world of
heavy confusion is that your diet doesn’t need to conform to any of the fad
diets… you don’t need to go "low carb" or "low fat", or high or low anything
for that matter to be successful in losing enough body fat to get lean enough to
be able to see your abs.

I like to try to simplify things for my readers. I think that balance is the
key to success along with eating a diet that is made up of nutrient dense foods
in their natural state (as unprocessed as possible).

In general, it is the heavy processing of foods that makes it wreak havoc
inside our bodies. Most foods in their natural unprocessed state are inherently
good for us. Of course there are always exceptions… a salad of poison ivy
leaves is "natural and unprocessed" but certainly would not be good for us!

I’ll leave your readers with a couple of the most important aspects of
nutrition that help to get you lean for life…

1. Get enough quality protein in the daily diet - not only does it have a
higher thermic effect than carbs and fat (so you burn more calories digesting
it), but it also creates satiety so your hunger is satisfied longer. Plus it’s a
building block for maintaining and building lean muscle… And remember that the
amount of lean muscle you carry is one of the main factors for controlling your
metabolism.

2. Think fiber! When it comes to carbs, make sure that almost all of your
carbohydrate intake is from higher fiber sources like vegetables, fruits, and
high fiber unrefined grains. Try to avoid refined sugars and refined grains as
that is one of the main reasons so many people struggle with body fat.

I personally don’t eat many grains as I prefer to get most of my carbs from
veggies and fruits, but I’ll admit I am a bit of a fan of sprouted grains. I
generally recommend looking for carbohydrate sources that have at least 2-3
grams of fiber per each 10 grams of total carbs. Remember that fiber helps fill
you up and also slows down the glycemic response of the foods you eat, all
beneficial for getting super lean.

3. Don’t be afraid to eat fat! Many people try to go way too low on their fat
intake and this can negatively affect hormone levels in your body as well as
causing more cravings. Try to eat enough healthy fats daily.

Good sources are all nuts and seeds, nut butters, avocados, olive oil,
organic meats and eggs, coconuts and virgin coconut oil. On that note, saturated
fats from tropical oils are VERY misunderstood, even by many nutritionists and
other health professionals. Yes they are composed highly of saturated fats, but
are actually beneficial (but that’s way beyond the scope of this article).

4. Avoid the two worst things in our food supply at ALL COSTS:

*artificial trans fats from margarines, shortening, and hydrogenated oils
that are in most processed foods

*high fructose corn syrup, which is in almost all sweetened products on the
market

Again, if you avoid processed foods, it becomes easy to avoid these two worst
offenders in our food supply.

I always contend that once you get a handle on these 4 main points of your
diet detailed above, the rest starts to take care of itself as you gain control
over your appetite, blood sugar levels, hormone levels, etc. It all falls into
place, and you eventually gain total control over how lean you want to get.
